Content guidelines

These Content Guidelines (the “guidelines”) outline Folktale’s current approach to unacceptable content.  The guidelines will evolve over time and Folktale reserves the right to amend them from time to time.  The amended guidelines will be published on this page of our website. Depending on the severity, a breach of the guidelines can result in a warning, user account suspension or account closure. In applying these guidelines, Folktale reserves the right to remove content or close a user account at our sole discretion.

Folktale considers the following types of content to be unacceptable and in breach of these guidelines:

1. Violence and Hatred: Content that glorifies or trivializes violence or human suffering is not permitted. For example, graphic depictions of violence, works that trivialize violent acts, and work or behaviours where the intent is to incite hatred or violence. 

   
   

2. Racism: Racist content or content designed to incite racism is not permitted. 

   
   

3. Use of Symbols:  Inclusion of unacceptable symbols such as a swastika are not permitted.  More generally, content may be removed if the intent is needlessly provocative, appears deliberately designed to contravene anti-vilification, anti-racist, or hate guidelines or does not comply with country-specific laws. 

   
   

4. Defamation: Content that can reasonably be considered defamatory is not permitted.

   
   

5. Vilification:  Content that is intended to invoke serious contempt, revulsion, or severe ridicule of an individual or group of people because of race, religion, disability, gender identity or sexuality is considered unacceptable.

   
   

6. Harmful Misinformation: Harmful misinformation is not permitted i.e. any misleading or false information that harms or significantly threatens public health and safety, or where the intent is to cause fear and suspicion about a topic.

   
   

7. Threats  / Harassment / Personal Attacks:  Folktale does not permit content that contains threats against the life, safety, or well-being of another individual or has the intent of harassing, hurting or upsetting other individuals. 

   
   

8. Explicit Sexual Content:  Sexually explicit content on the Folktale Platform is unacceptable.
